Bridget's Brigade

When Bridget DuMont overcame an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2007, she made a commitment to “pay it forward” by helping others beat the disease.  She was diagnosed with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer at just 30 years of age.  A healthy, active young woman, wife and mother of two at the time, Bridget had no family history of cancer.  After enduring an intense 18-month battle against the disease, she has prevailed through her faith, support from family and friends, and the miracle of medicine.

Bridget, celebrating her sixth year as a survivor, has become an advocate for women suffering from breast cancer.  Her inspirational story has been featured on FOX-TV, KETC-TV, KSDK-TV and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Bridget's Brigade has participated annually in the St. Louis Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure since 2007, raising more than $75,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation with the help of many generous supporters. In 2011 and 2012, Bridget was the top individual fundraiser for the St. Louis Race for the Cure.

In honor of Bridget, all of the women fighting breast cancer, as well as all of those who have lost their battle, especially our dear friends Lori Matthews and Susan Schroeder, Bridget's Brigade will continue our fundraising efforts until a cure is found.
